This is our journey from purchasing Dione at Conwy Marina to her new home, Penarth Marina in Cardiff.
Conwy Marina - Holyhead Yacht Club.
This was a mooring buoy - which in the winds coming in from the channel was VERY hard to get into - it took us about 20 attempts to hook up, and then when we did catch it - we could only get one rope - it was very blowy and not very sheltered - however that said we did have some stunning sights of fighter jets flying around in the distance.
Holyhead Yacht Club - Fishguard Harbour
A slightly more peaceful night here, a little bit more sheltered than Holyhead - here at anchor we did have some cross winds but nothing too bad - it was a pretty peaceful night, apart from my mate Russel who was on anchor drift watch - I, as the captain, slept like a baby lol! (I think I owe Russ one for that!)
Fishguard Harbour to Sandtop Bay on Caldey Island
This was amazing, such a beautiful spot to anchor - not a soul in sight, it was so still, just the sounds of the birds on the nearby island. We had a few visits from seals close by, and if the temperature was 8 degrees warmer this would have been like heaven - it was a little cold so it was a close second.
